What is the Citizen Alert Program?

Sign up to get emergency & community alerts on your cell phone, home & work phones. You can also get alerts via text message, email!

You can receive alerts about emergencies & events that may affect your home, your parents' home, your workplace, and your child's school, as long as those locations are within the boundaries of the city or county METCOM, serves.

What type of alerts will be sent?

Two Primary Types of Alerts

1. Imminent threats to life, health and safety, and property

Such as:
- → Severe weather
- → Floods
- → Gas leaks
- → 911 Outages
- → Critical Police Activities

2. Special community events

Such as:
- → Safety Fairs
- → Community Events
- → "Opt-in" for specific areas of interest

Questions - F.A.Q.s

Q. Will I still get emergency notifications if I don't sign up?

A. If you don't sign up, you will Only receive notifications on your traditional home phone, but nowhere else.

Q. What if my phone number or email address changes?

A. If your info changes, you must go to your profile and update the information. If you have a landline based telephone, your info will be updated automatically.

Q. Will my personal information be secure and private?

A. Yes! Any contact information you provide will be kept 100% Secure and Private. It will Never be sold to 3rd parties, and will only be used for emergency and special community alerts.
